Carolina Gym Supply Panel Mats are the building blocks for any gymnastics center, tumbling mats, or acro programs. Panel Mats are often called tumbling mats because their primary use is for adding a layer of protection when learning and practicing tumbling skills such as cartwheels, backbends, round-offs, front and back tucks, etc. These tumbling mats are perfect for cheer teams, dance studios, or gyms. They also make for solid, mobile spotting blocks in a pinch or as floor blocks for aiding with kick-overs, aerials, cartwheels, etc.

Carolina Gym Supply Panel Mats come in two thicknesses:

1.25" - Constructed of a single layer of closed-cell crosslink foam. This thickness is perfect for use over a spring floor and is the most common thickness for gymnastics and tumbling mats use.
2" - Constructed with a layer of 1.25" closed cell crosslink foam with an additional 3/4" layer of forgiving polyurethane foam. These Panel Mats offer the same stability as the 1.25" Panel Mats but have a more squishy and softer feel to them. These are great used as tumbling mats for harder surfaces.

All of our Panel Mats come standard with at least a hook and loop fastener on two ends (V2). You can get our V4 option with a hook/loop fastener on all four sides if you plan to attach Panel Mats together or use them for wall padding. Panel Mats are a great tumbling mat option for your aspiring gymnast to practice their skills at home! The most common size for home use is the 4' x 8' x 1.25" Panel Mat. Generally speaking, the 1.25" thickness is appropriate for home use over carpets and hardwood floors; if your gymnast plans to practice outside on concrete, the 2" thickness is recommended. These work great as tumbling mats!
